Botox Cosmetic® is widely recognized, and was the first neurotoxin to be approved for cosmetic use in the United States. BOTOX® Cosmetic is also approved by the FDA. Botox blocks the nerve signals that cause muscles to contract. For active lines or age associated wrinkles that are just starting to appear, Botox temporarily weakens the muscle that is causing the wrinkle. With one simple 10-minute treatment, results can be seen within a couple of days and can last for up to 4 months. Individual results may vary.
